Confederate Skirmishers

It's been quite awhile since my last post due to many reasons as the year has been quite a busy one with losing my very kind mother in law early in the year, more duties around the house, physical training(need to keep healthy), my camara breaking and having to buy a new one which I'm still trying to figure out plus night shift, moving things around the house have all seen my social presence dip way under my normal slow pace.

The good thing is in a little under two years I'll basically be retired at 60 due to my old timer program at my work which should free up a lot more time to pursue hobby interests I hope, but until then I fear my presence will remain sporadic however I fully intend to do better then the last few months as more things have been resolved. Sorry about not commenting I will try to improve on that, but it will be hit and miss for awhile yet.

Since I added some union skirmishers I needed to balance that out with some rebel ones which were fun to do as you can play around with the bases more.

The figures are a mix of Wargames Foundry and Redoubt miniatures which have some great posing. That's another reason painting skirmishers is fun is the posing can tell a story as you interact it with the terrain.

The colors I used were my usual Foundry ones which I've been making sure I have more then enough of all the colors with all these retirements going on(not foundry yet) I want to make sure I have enough for years to come just in case they do which is also one of the reasons why I have a very large lead mountain. This year alone Gripping Beast and Grubby Miniatures are retiring which both carry ranges I really like and I don't know if they will be picked up. I really hope so!

Well it was nice to get something posted again to help me get somewhat back on track and to let others know I'm still here. Oh another thing is I moved all my hobby stuff into my hobby room making it easier to concentrate on painting as my painting station I used was upstairs, however it became to uncomfortable as I've aged and my better half was fine with me disappearing as long as I'm there to eat meals and spend some time together watching programs together we enjoy.:-) This of course has the added benefit in that I can work on terrain when I'm not in the mood for painting miniatures(already painted a house and did some trees!) Next up probably the AWI house.
