Trojan Chariots!

It's been awhile since my last post,but Ive been busy.However,I did manage to finish some things.:-)
Here is my army general for my Trojans mounted a chariot pulled by white steeds the befits a king.He is wearing a scale armored suite that goes to his knees and is carrying a sword to make him stand out further.His retinue of charioteers are armored in the older fashion of Dendra panoply armored and thrusting spears because the king favors the jousting style of combat.
These are once again done using army painter with very quick highlights except the box cabs which I did the cow hide patterns by hand just like the large shields in the infantry.The horses of kings chariot I also did in a gray and white scheme as army painter just made all that white look off.
Next up is the kings son's chariot and retinue.

Frank Frazetta gone

My favourite fantasy illustrator of all time and a huge influence on my art work,model work and all things of the imagination has left us.He was the best bar none and will never be replaced.
I'm very sad as I lost my favourite historical illustrator Angus McBride a couple years back and now my favourite fantasy artist Frazetta.Double whammy.

A Northern Dawn

Here is a photo of some of my Danish Vikings formed into a shieldwall:I've had this army for many years and they remain dear to my heart.I wanted to give them a quick photo outing as I haven't updated them in awhile.
Vikings were and always will be my favorite army in history.Set sail the Longships!

AWI will return!

I've been asked if my AWI material is complete and I'm without a doubt not done with my AWI project material. I just have/had to stop for a bit to finish some commitments to project work for events and my club:Also,the painting competition was something I promised to partake in as well.
My commitments left are:
Trojans(priority)
Assyrians
Small band for Chaos in Cairo(priority)
Small band of Samurai that will eventually go larger
Fallschirmjäger platoon for DH

AWI material is basically for myself as I really don't have a player near me and is done in between other commitments,but I promise for those who follow this blog that enjoy that period more will be coming as I still have quite a bit to do in the future.:-)As a matter of fact I have a undercoated militia on my desk,but my priority projects must be completed first,so please bear with me and I appreciate everyone who has an interest in what I do.:-)

Aztec Eagle Knight Captain

With the advent of a painting competition on single character/leader models for WAB I decided to do an Aztec Eagle Knight Captain,because I plan on doing an Aztec army in the future.
The model is from Wargames Foundry excellent Aztec range(the best I believe).It's a converted Eagle knight with some feathers added to the shield and a back banner brace modeled on to hold the banner.This is done to distinguish him from the other warriors as a captain and leader.
This project is a personal one (building the army)and therefore no rush.This means I'll put my best foot forward with these guys.All my models are personal of course because they are just for me,but what I mean is I'm doing this army to high standard and without a goal of playing it unless an opportunity presents itself.(similar to my AWI material)
These Aztecs from Foundry are simply awesome and are without a doubt in the top 3 in terms of quality sculpts coming out of Foundry and are an absolute painters dream.
It's quite a lot of fun stepping out of the box and exploring colors not often used and I'm looking forward to further experiments with the range.:-)

Lukka Pirates

Here is my latest edition in the form a unit of allied Lukka Pirates(Sea Peoples) to support my Trojans.These guys were fun to paint up and I quite like the colorful nature of the unit.As with the other Trojans I continued with the army painter experiment.I tried adding a bit more army painter then last time to help raise the detail and added a few quick highlights to further define areas.I'm happy with skin tones here more then the other units. :) Again,most of the shield work is hand painted except the bronze studs with have army painter applied.
Another nice thing,is I'm happy I based up units wide when I heard the rumor WAB2 was going that direction and it appears that is the case.
Even painting at a pretty easy pace I'm surprised and happy how quick things are coming along and with some decent results for gaming.:-)
Next up for Trojans are....Chariots!The staple highlight units of the period in question.I'm looking forward to seeing how they turn out. :)

How do you like your blogs

I prefer a modeler to have just one blog with labels for all the different subjects they work on as I find this easier then jumping around blogs to see everything they do.
I also find it's easier for myself as well in posting my material.
I understand why folks like to separate their blogs by subjects as I've been tempted myself,but going back to what I said I like viewing one blog with labels as it's easier and with this in mind I went with just one blog.It's just easier for both in my view.
What is your opinion?
