Actions in and around Carentan.

-Ingouf Farm- 1st Platoon successfully outflanked the Germans at Ingouf farm causing them to retreat from their positions. Thanks to our mortars who provided a superb smokescreen and the leadership of Lt. Washburn in pushing the men into a rapid deployment and followed by a quick flanking maneuver resulting in the Germans abandoning the farm. No causalities were suffered. The men are in high spirits.

-Actions outside of Ingouf farm- 2nd platoon repulsed german counterattack near the orchards just beyond Ingouf farm. Took some light causalities with 3 dead 2 wounded 5 minor wounds and back on duty, but sadly I must report of the dead was Sgt. Bert Couchman a fine man. Corporal Ed Zahney has been slotted for promotion to replace him.
