Unexpected

Sorry about the lack of posts recently, but I was at a tournament in France and when I got home I got the phone call everyone dreads and heard that my loving and kind father who I loved very much had unexpectedly passed away which pretty much left me shattered for a few days. I've managed to start keeping myself busy in order to stop myself sinking into a black hole of depression. I can't paint yet, but I have started work on my hobby room which is busy work that's helps me not to think too much. I know the grief will lessen in time, but will never completely go away. I'll miss him very much.
I thought I would show the mess that is my hobby room to show you I'll have plenty to do with cleaning up, replacing shelves, new lighting and repainting walls. I'll take some more pictures when I'm done.
I also have some pics of the event in France and will post them tonight or in the next day or two.

  2. I have lost my father as well, so feel your loss. You do right in keeping yourself working with something. It does not make the pain go away, but it will keep you sane mate.

  15. So sorry to hear of your loss Chris. Keeping yourself busy will help distract you in the short term, but still allow yourself a chance to grieve. And as others have said, remember the fun and happy times you had, and you dad will stay with you in your heart.
I know what you are going through in a sense; since emigrating, my father comes to visit us every other year, and each time his holiday with us ends and he heads home again, its hard on all of us here...

  26. Very sorry to read of your loss Chris. I lost my father over 26 years ago and it's not so much that the pain of the loss has gone, but that it's been replaced with very fond memories of him. I still think of both my parents most days one way or another, so don't be afraid of remembering the good things.
